The Word Is Grace
"The Word Is Grace" is brought to you by The Carpenter's Shop, located at 1201 East Elmore Street in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Our Sabbath services begin at 3:30 every Saturday afternoon. Listen with us as Bible teachers Jim Denman and Tim Terry examine our faith in Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus), with a Hebraic perspective. What did Jesus eat? How did He dress? Is the Torah still valid to believers today? Did He really say that there are only two laws that we have to follow now? Did God change His requirements for salvation after the cross? Is the Sabbath on Sunday or Saturday; was it changed? Join us as we seek answers to these questions, with balance and a humble reverence for God's Word.
"Claim it in Jesus' Name!" John 14:13 - 16

"If you shall ask for anything in My Name, I will do it."
If this were the only verse in the bible that you had read, what would you make of it? It wouldn't take too long to realize that there are some stipulations to what is being asked, would it?
Yet when you turn on the television today, it seems that there are more and more preachers telling people that they can claim some pretty outrageous things in Jesus' name. "God wants you to be wealthy; claim it in Jesus' name!" goes the mantra of modern televangelism.
But is that what our Master meant? What about the countless millions who have nothing? What are we to make of believers in third world countries, who live their entire lives serving the Messiah, and yet live in shacks, and eat handouts?
In the context of scripture as a whole, it is clear that there is no formula for "getting what you want" simply for the sake of getting what you want (otherwise, we would all be wealthy and in good health). When our lives begin to emulate that of our Master, the "what I want" prayers will turn into "what He wants" prayers. The desires of our hearts will reflect the desires of our Father in heaven. What does He desire? Lets make it a priority to find out... then claim it in Yeshua's name!
Shabbat Shalom!

Here at the Carpenter's Shop, we believe Yeshua when He states in Matthew 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." We have come to know that our Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus), was a Torah observant, Jewish Rabbi who will one day return to reign from David's throne in Jerusalem. We believe that we are saved by the redemptive work that Yeshua accomplished on the cross; we are saved by the grace of God (Hashem), not by observing Torah. We observe Torah because we are saved, out of obedience to God's Word.
