"Who Chose Who?” John 15:11 - 27

Did you choose Jesus, or did He choose you? The answer seems to be... yes! In one sense, we as believers have chosen to follow Yeshua as our Master, yet He Himself says that He chose us; Paul adds; “before the foundations of the world.”
Calvinists have a field day with these words. The truth is that anyone who knows scripture well can successfully argue both points of the 'predestination' argument. He did choose us. We did make a choice to follow Him.
The crux of the issue is not predestination though. The true issue is whether or not we abide in Him. Are we willing to lay everything aside and follow Him with our whole heart. Mind and body? That is the heart of the matter. Like Joshua said, we must choose this day whom we will serve. Lets make it a point to answer like he did when he said: As for me and my house, we will serve the lord.

Here at the Carpenter's Shop, we believe Yeshua when He states in Matthew 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." We have come to know that our Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus), was a Torah observant, Jewish Rabbi who will one day return to reign from David's throne in Jerusalem. We believe that we are saved by the redemptive work that Yeshua accomplished on the cross; we are saved by the grace of God (Hashem), not by observing Torah. We observe Torah because we are saved, out of obedience to God's Word.
