The Word Is Grace

"The Word Is Grace" is brought to you by The Carpenter's Shop, located at 1201 East Elmore Street in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Our Sabbath services begin at 3:30 every Saturday afternoon. Listen with us as Bible teachers Jim Denman and Tim Terry examine our faith in Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus), with a Hebraic perspective. What did Jesus eat? How did He dress? Is the Torah still valid to believers today? Did He really say that there are only two laws that we have to follow now? Did God change His requirements for salvation after the cross? "I AM That I AM" John 18:1-13

A kiss. Of all the ways that Judas could betray our Messiah, he chose to do it with a kiss. Peter answers the betrayal with a sword to the High Priest's servant's ear. Jesus answers Peter's action with another miraculous healing. The mob asks where Jesus of Nazareth is, and He answers them with “I AM,” an answer that drops them, to the ground at His feet.
I AM. With those two words, Yeshua was telling them that He is none other than the God of Israel. The God who created the very ground that they just landed on. And with those two words, He was letting them know that He was the one in control of the situation. He alone was the one calling the shots. He alone was allowing Himself to be “taken.”

We are in the middle of the most incredible love story ever told. As we start chapter 18 of John, keep in mind that He allowed these things to happen. He did these things for us. He is wanting to answer the questions of our hearts today also; questions like, “Why am I here? What is the meaning of life? Is there a God? What happens when I die?”

You can have peace in your life today by placing your faith in the one who answered “I AM.” He IS, and in Him we can have eternal life. Are you going to put your trust in this Jesus of Nazareth? ...I am.

Here at the Carpenter's Shop, we believe Yeshua when He states in Matthew 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." We have come to know that our Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus), was a Torah observant, Jewish Rabbi who will one day return to reign from David's throne in Jerusalem. We believe that we are saved by the redemptive work that Yeshua accomplished on the cross; we are saved by the grace of God (Hashem), not by observing Torah. We observe Torah because we are saved, out of obedience to God's Word.
